WOW-MM is a plain text email newsletter which will be published twice-monthly  It is a beginner's companion to WOW itself.  Topics covered in WOW will be covered in more elementary and step-by-step detail in WOW-MM.

WOW-MM readers get the latest news, tips and tricks on Microsoft Windows with occasional excursions into Windows, the Internet and whatever else catches our eye.

Office for Mere Mortals currently has over 78,852 list members and many more than that access it through web sites, bulletin boards or redistribution within companies (shared folders in Exchange Server etc).

WOW-MM is actively promoted throughout the web with links from a wide range of sites including the ZDNet Help Channel.

POSITIONS

Office Watch for Mere Mortals (WOW-MM) accepts advertisements for each issue.  There are four positions available:

Headline:

Your ad is near the top of the bulletin for maximum effect.  The most prominent position, above the table of contents and immediately visible to all readers, even in the preview window of a mail reader. Great for product announcements to encourage immediate click through to your site.  Only one advert per issue in this position.  The Headline is our most popular booking -- it is often booked out some months ahead!  So advance booking is essential.

Top Body:

The Top Body position is located immediately before the first, lead article, which ensures that you get prominence for your advertising.  There is only one advert per issue in this position.

Top Body (small):

The Top Body position is located immediately before the first, lead article, which ensures that you get prominence for your advertising.  A small (130 characters plus link) ad is available in this position.

Body:

A more economical ad placed after the first major article.  Maximum of two adverts per issue in this position.  The Body position is also very popular.

Run-of-Issue:

This is our lowest-price advertising position.  There is a maximum of three adverts per issue in this position.  Ads booked for this position will be placed depending on the articles published in that issue, and number of positions available.

Linked Run-of-Issue:

If you would like you ad to be near a related article (eg a Excel article near an ad for an Excel related product) you can book a 'linked' advertisement.  This must be done on a 'stand-by' basis since the nature of content isn't known until shortly before publication.  Linked ads cost only 20% more than standard ads.

All text ads (except small Top Body) are 370 characters (including spaces and punctuation) plus hyperlink.

WHAT DO REGULAR WOW ADVERTISERS DO?

For even greater savings, they buy multiple insertions. You do NOT have to run your ads all in a row.  Book them for any time in the next 12 months. Many of our regular advertisers find it worthwhile to put 1 or 2 ads in WOW-MM per month to keep their product prominent in the minds of Office users around the world. These advance bookings not only give you a much cheaper rate per advertisement, but it also guarantees your booking in what can be a crowded WOW-MM advertising schedule. You're also protected against rate increases for the life of your advertisement.  Ask us for a quote on a long term booking.

WOW-MM is published twice each month, usually on Monday morning (US time). All copy must be delivered by the Friday before publication. Orders are accepted upon receipt of an authorization and insertion form. Payment is due with copy. No conditions, printed or otherwise, appearing on insertion orders, contracts, insertion instructions or any other form of correspondence that conflict with these policies will be binding on the publisher. Cancellations are accepted up to 2 days prior to publication.
