The Windows Event Log keeps a track of how long it takes to boot up your computer.
There’s an interesting and well explained article here that explains where to look in the Event Viewer.
This can be useful information if you’re interested in performance changes after a change in hardware – for example switching between hard drives. It gives you an accurate baseline for comparison.
We use these numbers to see if a new hard drive, especially a Solid State Drive really is as fast as promised (it is).
