'Talk to the Newsroom' is a Q & A feature in the New York Times which, this week, comes from Michele McNally their Assistant Managing Editor for Photography.
Aside from the journalistic questions, as photographers ourselves we liked the items on asthetic matters complete with examples.
Near the bottom of the page there are sections headed "Aesthetics and News" and "Distracting Elements".
