Microsoft’s online storage service gets a court mandated name change.
Last year, Microsoft lost a court case over the name ‘SkyDrive’ so now it’s being renamed ‘OneDrive‘.
SkyDrive will be called OneDrive
SkyDrive Pro becomes OneDrive for Business
Hopefully the switchover will be seamless for users like those who save Office documents. According to Microsoft “The service will continue to operate as you expect…” so let’s hope so. Ideally users can just continue to work with a gradual change of name and logos on web sites and software.
The new slogan will be ‘One place for everything in your life’ though some wags might change that to ‘One place for the NSA to get everything in your life’.
