A curious marketing match – buy Office 2010 and get $100 to fly Southwest Airlines.
Amazon currently has a promotion where you get $100 to spend on Southwest Airlines flights if you buy Office 2010 Home and Business.
It’s not a bad deal as long as you’re a business customer (even a small or tiny business seem to qualify), fly Southwest in the next few months and want Office 2010 now.
Amazon has Office 2010 Home and Business edition for $220 compared to the official price of $280. There are stores selling the same product for a little less but then add shipping. Amazon has free ‘super saver shipping’. So you’re not paying any more for the $100 credit.
What’s the catches?
- You must be a SWABIZ member to qualify for this offer. What’s SWABIZ? It seems to be a business oriented web site for Southwest Airlines. Check outSWABIZ.com . You can enroll online – a D-U-N-S number or Tax ID is required.
- The $100 credit has to be used on round-trip travel on Southwest before 19 November 2010. Only Business Select or Anytime Fare purchases, excluding taxes and fees.
- There a ‘blackout’ on using the credit between 3rd and 7th September 2010.
- The offer only applies to copies of Office 2010 sold and shipped by Amazon (not third-party sellers) and the promotional details have to be on the product page when you add the product to your cart.

In short, if you’re a regular Southwest flyer already, this offer might be worth using. Otherwise the date and other restrictions probably make it impractical.
