Check mark or tick has two options, normal ✓ or heavy ✔ to insert into Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook. Both in Office for Windows and Office for Mac.
Checkmark ✓ symbol is used for bullet or check lists and other indicators.
There’s also Heavy Check Mark ✔ which looks different, heavier, than the normal check mark (even with a bold setting).

On a Mac, to enter the Check mark ✓ symbol:
- Command + Control + Spacebar shortcut to open the Character Viewer.
- Search for “ Check “ and the Viewer should find various checkmark or tick options.
Despite the name Character Viewer, the Apple system tool will also insert characters into any program, including Office for Mac.
