Eudora goes open source

Eudora is being dropped by the owners

The well known email program, Eudora is being converted into an open source program by the current owners, Qualcomm.

The last commercial versions of Eudora (v 7.1 for Windows and v 6.2.4 for Mac) will be on sale at a reduced price until the first half of 2007 when it becomes a free product.

In practice this means Qualcomm is dropping it’s purchase of Eudora, but instead of just ceasing sales it is releasing it for people to continue if they choose.
