Vale Peter McDonell

Peter McDonell 1938-2022

We sadly must report the death of Peter McDonell, a good friend of Peter Deegan and  Peter died peacefully on 4 June 2022 aged 84

Peter was one of those people you don’t forget even after a short meeting.  Friendly, open and fun with a wonderful breadth of experience to draw from.  I met Peter through the Sydney PC Users Group where he became a strong and practical force on the board.

Born in Adelaide, Peter had been a policeman, lawyer, senior executive, computer guru, scuba diver, voracious reader, sports fan and traveller over the course of a full life.

My fondest memories are of sitting with Peter and chatting on the back veranda of the lovely home he and Kate had made.  Enjoying a lovely meal, with essential wine, street-side in Paris or in the Eiffel Tower (truly).

Peter McDonell will be greatly missed by many people as a source of good counsel and great laughs.  He’s survived by his wife Kate, son Greg plus  grandchildren Jessica, Jack and Ben.
