The next version of Office will now officially be called ‘Office 2007’
OFFICE 12 BECOMES OFFICE 2007
It’s nice to get the naming ceremony out of the way early – we can stop talking about the code-name ‘Office 12’ safe in the knowledge that the next Office will be called ‘Office 2007’.
Now we can all rest easy
Mind you, the name ‘Office 12’ won’t be totally forgotten. Office 2003 users may have noticed the code name ‘Office 11’ appear (for example in the /Program Files/Microsoft Office/ Office11 folder ). Most likely “Office 12” will similarly linger on.
