Zeta – lower case ζ symbol is the 6th letter of the Greek alphabet. It is used for various mathematically and scientific reasons, such as representing the Riemann zeta function, the heat flux through a plane or relative vorticity in the ocean or atmosphere.
The uppercase Zeta is not normally used, because it’s identical to the Latin Z letter.
