Feed in Microsoft 365 is ending soon

The Feed feature on Microsoft 365 for business is ending in just a few weeks. It’s being replaced by a less helpful AI feature that doesn’t always help.

The Microsoft Feed feature will retire starting November 1, 2024. the Feed feature will be retired from the Microsoft 365 app, affecting https://www.microsoft365.com and https://www.office.com , as well as the Microsoft 365 Windows app.

The retirement will start on November 1, 2024, and end by November 15, 2024. After the feature is retired, users will not be able to access the Feed feature on Microsoft 365 apps.

Microsoft says this is happening “As part of ongoing efforts to streamline and enhance user experiences,”

They say the “Recommended files” on the Home page of the Microsoft 365 app serves as a replacement for the Feed feature.

That’s a great theory but only works IF Recommended Files is truly showing what people need. There’s a lot to be said for a simple list of recent activity in date order, uncomplicated by the ‘help’ of AI.
