New iPad feature that Office for iPad users will love

Among all the announcements from Apple yesterday, there’s one that caught our eye – multi-tasking.  This is coming in iOS 9 … the next version of the Apple operating system.

At least Apple calls it ‘multi-tasking’ it’s really just a split screen so you can have two apps ‘side-by-side’.

Office for iPad: the complete guide Things you should know that Microsoft won’t tell you: a complete guide to Office for iPad.

Split View‘  will let you have two apps side-by-side and use both.  iPad Air 2 only.

Slide Over‘ lets you swipe another app in from the side, leaving the first app open.

Picture in Picture‘ is pretty much what you’d expect. A small video running in the corner while you have another app over most of the screen.

Slide Over and Picture in Picture will be available in iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 2 and iPad Mini 3.

That could be very useful with Office for iPad.  Having, say, Word for iPad in most of the screen but some other app (like a browser window) in the other for reference as you type.
