A few weeks ago we told you and Microsoft about a broken web link from Outlook 2013.
The link to add more social connectors to Outlook 2013 goes to a fancy ‘Page not found’ page that’s no help at all.
This isn’t a mistake by Microsoft, they’ve had some time to fix this and had notably failed to do anything. The link is still broken as we type this.
Microsoft can’t say they don’t know about it. They’ve had complaints from paying customers and we took the trouble to notify them directly. Follow up emails don’t even get a reply.
So either Microsoft doesn’t care or there was cowardly and deliberate decision to drop the Social Connectors page. If that’s the case, it’s probably because there’s no more social connectors and Microsoft is too embarrassed about the lack of widespread adoption of a signature feature of Outlook.
Long time Office users won’t be surprised. Microsoft will ruthlessly drop anything that doesn’t suit Microsoft … customers need or convenience barely gets a thought.
