Bitlocker in the Word dictionary

Bitlocker is an important part of Microsoft Windows so why isn’t it in the Microsoft Word dictionary?

Bitlocker is the drive encryption feature in modern Windows.  It secures your drive if stolen or lost because the entire drive is unreadable without the password.  Our books for Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 have chapters devoted to BitLocker. Beating Bots, Spies and Cock-ups goes into detail about BitLocker to go for portable drives and USB memory sticks.

It appears that Microsoft hasn’t added their own trademarked feature into the Word dictionary.  Type ‘Bitlocker’ and it gets a red squiggly line. Right-click for a spelling suggestion and all you get is the split word ‘Bit locker’.

BitLocker is in the Word dictionary

BitLocker is in the Word dictionary. It’s a little bug in the spell checker that the proper word ” BitLocker ” (with a capital L) doesn’t show up in the spelling suggestions.

Change to a capital L in the middle and the red squiggly goes away.
