Skype sharing screen during a call

Instead of people looking at your face during a Skype call, they can see a computer screen instead. That includes a Word document, worksheet or PowerPoint presentation.

Start a call as usual, either an audio or video call.  In the call window, look for the menu ‘three dots’ button.  It’s usually at bottom right, depending on the program and platform.

Share Screen

Here’s the current Skype app for Windows 10, the menu is bottom right with many choices including ‘Share Screen’.

Then select the display to share. If you have multiple screens, Skype can only share one.  That can be useful because you can share a screen with a worksheet or presentation, leaving other displays for you to use, unseen.

There’s also the choice to share computer sound or not.
