Insert the Water Pistol or Gun emoji 🔫 into Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Outlook. Both in Office for Windows and Office for Mac. AND how to make the ‘gun’ point to the right.

Water Pistol 🔫 symbol is the only ‘gun’ style symbol in the emoji collection. It’s officially called ‘Water Pistol’ but searching for ‘gun’ will usually find it. Other key words are rifle, revolver, tool, weapon or handgun

How Water Pistol 🔫 looks in different fonts.

The ‘Water Pistol’ or ‘Gun’ emoji looks very different depending on the platform. The ‘Segoe UI Emoji’ version looks like a water pistol but the ‘Segoe UI Symbol’ is a ray-gun from 50’s SciFi.

Apple / Mac / iPhone / iPad

On Apple devices, the same Water Pistol emoji looks like this, with the Apple Color Emoji font.

Pointing to the right or other direction

Paste the emoji into a Text Box
Remove the text box outline (optional)
Choose the text box, right-click to select Format Shape ….
On the Format Shape pane go to Text Options | Text Effects | 3-D Rotation
X Rotation – change to 180°

To point in another direction (up, down or any angle) use the Rotation handle (above the text box).

Insert | Symbols | Symbol and look for the Water Pistol symbol. Make sure you choose an emoji font like Segoe UI Emoji and enter the character code 1F52B.
