Easy fix for unwanted message grouping in Outlook

How to stop Outlook grouping Inbox messages, most commonly by date. “Today”, “Yesterday” etc. which might suit some people but is a right nuisance to others.

This is an option in Outlook (classic) for Windows which can appear, seemingly for no good reason. It’s not in Outlook (new).

Some people might like it, but most don’t, probably because it takes up valuable screen space which is better used showing more emails.

To make matters worse, a lot of the online advice is either wrong or misleading, when the fix is really simple and on the ribbon.

Just go to View | Arrange By and turn off Show in Groups.

That’s it, all fixed.

Outlook (new) is NOT ready, ignore what Microsoft says
