RobinAI get funding for AI-powered Word add-in for lawyers

RobinAI, a legal add-in for Microsoft Word has received $26 million in new funding from a Singapore investment firm. The Word add-on uses AI tech to help drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.

There’s a contract repository with a search option to let you pull out relevant text from similar past contracts.

“Customers can add their own negotiating playbooks and the Robin copilot will quickly review a contract, identify clauses and propose edits, which can easily be accepted or rejected – all while ensuring lawyers retain full control over the process.”

The AI contract copilot (no relation to Microsoft Copilot) can suggest edits for contracts based on “playbooks”.  Different playbooks can be setup for different contracts to make sure suggested edits align with your company policies. Identify which clauses need to be edited to meet corporate requirements and also when certain wording is missing.

The company claims their customer base has quadrupled in the last year with most interest from the private equity sector which often involves fast closure on complex deals.
