Office 2007 gets a third color scheme

One of the many changes in Office 2007 is the ability to change the color scheme of the program separately from the rest of Windows.

One of the many changes in Office 2007 is the ability to change the color scheme of the program separately from the rest of Windows.

In Office 2003 and before, the look of the menus and toolbars is part of the overall Windows theme (Control Panel | Display | Theme).

In Office 2007 beta go to Word Options | Personalize | Color Scheme and there’s currently two options – Windows XP (blue) or Windows Vista (gray) which are available regardless of which operating system that you’re running.

In future releases Office 2007 will have a third color scheme, a high contrast one called, for the moment, Black.
