How to tidy up your browser favorites / bookmarks.
Over time you can accumulate a lot of bookmarked web sites in your browser. Favorites in Internet Explorer (or bookmarks in Firefox) can get out of date and it’s easy to accidently create duplicate links to the same web site.
Phil, our long suffering proofreader, found himself with over 2,000 IE favorites!
The solution is AM-Deadlink from Aignesberger a small, free program that checks each link against the web site to see if it is working as well as checking for duplicates.
“It works a treat, detects duplicates and reports on dead entries, and allows modifications etc.” reports Phil.
