The choices are at File | Print under the ‘Print All Slides’ default.
Print Current Slide
Simple and direct, a printout of the currently viewed slide.
Print Selection
PowerPoint prints on a ‘per slide’ basis. A selection is a choice of slides, not parts of a slide.
Select slides by holding down the Ctrl key a clicking on the thumbnails you want.
Slides 2, 4 and 6 are selected (orange frame around thumbnail).
Once selected, Print Selection becomes available in the Print pane. The slides print in numerical order, see below for printing slides out of their regular order.
Custom Range
Custom Range print not just nominated slides but also slides in any order. It’s very similar to Word’s custom page print option that will print pages in any order you choose.
- 1-5 will print slides 1,2,3,4 and 5.
- 3- prints slide 3 onwards to the last slide.
- -5 prints from the first slide to slide 5
Mixing up the order is easy:
- 5-1 prints slide 5 then 4,3,2 and 1.
- 1,1,7,3,8 prints slide 1 twice then slides 7, 3 and 8 in that order.
Hidden slides included
Hidden slides are included in slide printing unless you UNcheck the ‘Print Hidden Slides’ option at the bottom of the slide range list. ‘Print Hidden Slides’ defaults on.
