Outlook 365 for Windows has a Meet Now button on the calendar views, why not elsewhere?
Meet Now is Microsoft’s calling & meeting service. It’s officially part of Teams but is getting a life of its own for computer-to-computer calling and online meetings by individuals. It has features like screen sharing and chat which are as good, if not better, than Skype.
The Meet Now button appears on the Calendar Home tab, next to the Teams Meeting button.
Both buttons appear if the Teams app for Windows is installed (not in a browser) and the Teams plugin for Outlook is enabled.
Your first Meet Now call
Clicking ‘Meet Now’ starts a private meeting that you can invite people into.
Click Join Now then invite people by sending them a link via email or messaging as well as adding Team participants.
Tip: Try Meet Now with a friend. It has many useful features, in particular under the Share Content button.
More Meet Now buttons
However, that just one place a ‘Meet Now’ button would be useful. It’s noticeably missing from the People/Contacts window. Not on the ribbon nor the communication options on a contact card.
But it can be added to any Outlook ribbon. Customize the Ribbon, choose ‘All Commands’ then add ‘Meet Now’ to a new group on whatever tab you like.
