It had to come and so it has. Google’s Gmail service has been integrated with Google Talk, their instant messaging and voice service. Since Google Talk clients have links to Gmail this is a logical and expected extension of the service.
More importantly it means you don’t need to have a separate IM client when you’re traveling and using other computers. Just login to your Gmail account and your Talk contacts will appear in the browser. Google is promising that you’ll be able to IM chat from within the Gmail browser window which will be a boon for people using Internet Caf‚’s around the world.
