A few months ago we told you about Office Mix, a way to put PowerPoint presentations online.
Microsoft has given us several attempts at sharing presentations online. Office Mix is probably the best integration of PowerPoint slides and some features only possible online.
For a plain showing of PowerPoint slides online you can use PowerPoint Online. Share the presentation saved on OneDrive with View only access.
But for more interaction try Office Mix which seems to be out of beta. At least we’ve received a Microsoft email promoting Mix without any mention of limitations. However ‘Customer Preview’ is still mentioned on the web site.
Originally, Office Mix was promoted as an educational tool but now it appears to be shifting, rightly, to more general use by PowerPoint users.
Mix presentations can still contain:
- Slides, videos and live (secure)web pages
- A quiz on the presentation. True/False, multiple choice, multiple response and free response are available. The quiz questions can include feedback customized for right and wrong answers.
Which are great, not just for K-12 but also people and organizations.

Export Analytics to Excel
You can now export mix analytics to Microsoft Excel. Simply log in to OfficeMix.com, open My Mixes->Uploaded Mixes and choose the mix you want to analyze. You’ll see an icon that lets you download the analytics as an Excel file. You can view both slide and quiz analytics, and you can filter and pivot to your heart’s content.
Easy Sharing
Share mixes to Pinterest, in addition to Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Just click Share and choose the social network(s) you want to share to.
