An easy way to get an anonymous face, cat, horse or artwork

Here’s a way to get a face or other image for a PowerPoint slide or Word document but not intrude on anyone’s privacy.

Check out ThisPersonDoesNotExist.com

The website employs artificial intelligence (AI) in the form of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to produce photos of people who do not exist.

An astonishingly realistic, but entirely fake image of a person’s face appears every time your refresh the page. The site, which was developed by Uber software engineer Philip Wang, has used research published by Nvidia to generate an endless supply of portraits of fake people.

Use it anywhere that a face is needed. A product brochure, presentation etc.

Don’t like the face you see?  Refresh the page to see another.

See a face you like? Right-click in your browser and either Copy Image or Save Image As … to a file.

Remember to save any image you want to keep because once you leave that page, the face will never appear again!

The website went viral in 2019 as it illustrated artificial intelligence’s rapidly increasing ability to present completely artificial images as real.

Here we’ve applied examples of the photos from the website to the PowerPoint slide below.

Cats, Horses, Art and Chemicals

Besides people, there are also other examples of ‘not exist’ options, such as cats, horses, art, and chemicals.

They actually also have their own websites:

Thisartworkdoesnotexist.com

Thiscatdoesnotexist.com

Thishorsedoesnotexist.com

Thischemicaldoesnotexist.com

On thischemicaldoesnotexist.com rather than an image you will receive an animation that continuously spins.  Hover over certain areas for details on molecules and bonds.

There have been reasonable grievances concerning technology that can produce credible fake photos like these on a global level. The website attempts to build images that will make designers’ lives easier, but the software might be used for a variety of malicious purposes in the future.
