In Windows, the Compass 🧭 symbol is in the font: Segoe UI Emoji. Depending on the app and use, it’ll appear in color or black.
The symbol can be recolored using the standard Font Color feature.

Use the standard Word Alt + X symbol shortcut 1F9ED then Alt + X
Once in a document you can copy it to AutoCorrect and make your own shortcut.

On a Mac, to enter the Compass 🧭 symbol:
- Command + Control + Spacebar shortcut to open the Character Viewer.
- Search for “ Compass “
The Mac version of the Compass symbol looks quite different to it’s Windows counterpart.
Despite the name Character Viewer, the Apple system tool will also insert characters into any program, including Office for Mac.
