Hints about Microsoft’s sales strategy for 64 bit version of Office 2010.
Microsoft has already said that there will be both 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Office 2010. The question remained – how would the 64 bit version be sold or bundled?
With Office 2003 there was a little known 64 bit edition sold separately. Office 2007 is 64 bit version-deprived.
In the Office 2010 Technical Preview, there is a ‘Professional Plus’ install folder for 64 bit programs though there are only a few DLL’s in there.
This suggests that the 64 bit programs will be included with Office 2010 – at least for the higher end bundles/SKU’s.
