No spam: We don’t ‘spam’ Twitter users with many duplicate or irrelevant messages, as some people have started to do.  We send ‘tweets’ only when there is a genuine new article on our web site.

Direct Messages – DM’s: we regret that we’re unable to respond to Twitter direct messages.  Not only the time involved but the limitation of trying to answer technical questions in 140 characters .  Please use our Feedback page if you want to send us a message.

Office chatter on Twitter

It can be fascinating to see what people say about software as they work – many questions, some answers and plenty of anguish and outright anger.

We’ve setup some pages that make it easy to see the latest Twitter comments about

You don’t need a Twitter account but you can click on a link to see more info on the sender of any message or to any links they have sent.

Sometimes irrelevant items can appear – that’s because it’s hard for literally minded computers to tell the difference between ‘word’ meaning the unit of language or the word-processor. Same thing for ‘outlook’ and ‘pubisher’. Twitter messages can be written in haste and capitalization can’t be relied upon.

Language Warning: some Twitter messages can get a little ‘fruity’, usually when Office users show their frustration! Bad language can and does appear on the pages.

Short URL’s

For anyone who is curious …

To help people on PDA’s and services like Twitter we’ve arranged our own short url domain  ofl.me  which works the same as office-watch.com .

At present we use a service to convert our articles into Twitter postings – Twitterfeed.com
