Control Powerpoint from your phone
The PowerPoint Presentation Companion lets you run a slideshow from a phone.
Microsoft has released Presentation Companion 1.0 for Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 or Microsoft PowerPoint 2007.
This add-in only works if you have a Windows Mobile 6.5 touchscreen phone with Office Mobile 2010.
The mobile phone and computer can then be linked via Bluetooth wireless.
The phone and computer have to use Microsoft’s Bluetooth software ‘stack’ – that can be a trap because some phones, notably HTC, use other Bluetooth software.
The presentation has to be loaded on both the phone and computer.
When you start Presentation Companion on the phone, it sends a signal to the computer to start the same presentation. PowerPoint 2007/2010 has to be running on the computer with the presentation loaded and the Presentation Companion add-in selected.
The speaker notes appear on the phone while the computer shows the slides. You can click Next to move forward a slide or Menu for more choices (Previous, Go To, Clicker Slide Show and Close File).
The Presentation Companion is available in two versions:
32-bit for PowerPoint 2007 or PowerPoint 2010
64-bit for PowerPoint 2010 64-bit installations.
