It's official - Office 2013 will be the next Office
Buried in today’s Microsoft announcement is the name of the next Office version.
While most commentators are looking at the glossy Surface device from Microsoft – Office-Watch.com looks for Office news.
Down in the specs for the Surface with Windows RT is the name of the next version of Office.
Office 2013
Excited now? Usually Microsoft saves the naming of Office for some separate announcement – part of the calculated series of leaks and postings in the run-up to a Office release.
This time it was sneaked into a larger announcement. Or was it an oversight caused by the manufactured secrecy surrounding Surface?
Of course we still know little of any real value about Office 2013 – but at least the mystery has a name.
