The new Android app for Box includes ‘lightning fast’ document viewing including for Word, Excel and PowerPoint as well as PDF and images. Specifically the content preview supports .doc .docx .xls .xlsx .xlsm .ppt and .pptx .

The apps Presentation view is available to display PowerPoint slides.

Box claims ‘100+ file types’ are supported.

Searching within Word, Excel, PowerPoint and PDF files is available.

Box is doing a lot of work to expand their reach through support for third-party developers. For example Documents to Gois an editing app with support for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents. You can open and save files directly to and from a Box account. Other apps are listed as http://getonecloud.com/

They also have Box Notes which combines elements of Evernote/OneNote into a cloud storage product.

Box is available with 5GB of free storage.

LG “premium smartphone and tablet devices” buyers can get 50GB storage (similar to the Dropbox deal with Samsung) but only in US, Western Europe and South Korea.
