14 year old is US National Excel Champion

Think you know Excel?  A 14 year old high school student from Florida has beaten 350,000 contestants and 147 finalists to be become the 2018 US National Excel Champion.

Kevin Dimaculangan from Dunbar High School is now going to the World Championships in Orlando, Florida at the end of July.

His win is even more impressive for his age, he beat all comers including college undergraduates. The competition is limited to students from 13 to 22 years old.

Kudos to Dunbar High that offers industry certifications in computer programming, information technology among many.  That’s great to see and a far cry from the well-resourced schools that don’t even teach students to type, let alone properly use a computer.
