Track Changes only for you in Word

Word 365’s Track Changes is getting a more refined option to remember just changes you make to a document, no-one else.

Normally, turning ‘Track Changes’ on, means anyone working on the document has their edits tracked. On the Review tab, Tracking and under ‘Track Changes’ there’s a new choice ‘Just mine’.

That lets you follow your own changes to a document without forcing other people to track their own edits.

If another person opens the document, they can see your edits. ‘Just mine’ controls what changes are saved but doesn’t make that tracking private to you.

View edits from selected users

This new feature is different from the long-standing option to filter the view of saved changes. Show Markup | Specific People lets you see only edits by the people you choose.

Who gets it?

Track Changes for one person is now available to Office 365 insiders.  Windows: v2103 build 13901.20312 or later.  Mac: v16.47 build 21031401 or later

Eventually it will appear for more insiders and general users.
