Save-the-date cards, invitations, place cards and other wedding paperwork can be made in Word. Reduce stress and expenses, by creating your invites digitally through Word.
Creating your own invites is a great approach, adding a personal and unique touch to proceedings.
Usually, you’ll find Wedding Invites are in A5 size.
Simply open your new document, go to the Layout Tab | Size | A5.
From there, choose from a variety of Word’s existing fonts. Also, you can easily find free fonts available online to download, to find other kinds of minimalistic type of fonts like Serif or a fancier Calligraphy style font.
Here we have downloaded the Ruthie Regular Font Style from 1001 fonts.
Calligraphy fonts are good for a flourish in headings but don’t overdo it. Stick to a simple, serif font for the important details (who, when, where etc).
Wedding Invite Templates
Alternatively, Word even provides a couple of online Wedding templates. Simply search for “Wedding Invites” when you create a New Document and find a variety of templates to use as a base or draw inspiration.
The Microsoft supplied ‘wedding’ templates aren’t very nice in our opinion. Choose an overall design that you like and use it a basis for your own work. Change the images from the uninspiring graphics, select a more interesting font etc.
Most home-printers have the ability to print on card, and as the Stylist recommends, you can purchase high-quality paper with matching envelopes. Otherwise, if unable to print at home, you could go to an online or local printing company to assist. Most office supplies stores (Staples, Office Works etc) have a printing department that can do wonders from your Word document or PDF.
