Here’s how to quickly add events from the Paris 2024 Olympics into your Outlook calendars, showing times in your location.
The Paris Olympic organizers have provided an online calendar with .ics calendar files for individual events from their website.
Those calendar files can be imported into Outlook for Windows or Mac. They’ve been well made with timing given in UTC/GMT which Outlook will automatically change to your time zone.
See Add an iCalendar .ics to an Outlook calendar
In Outlook (classic) go to File | Open and Export | Import <> Export.
OR right-click on the .ics file then Open with … and choose Outlook.
Next an important choice. “Open as New” makes a new calendar while “Import” adds the event into the current calendar.
You might want to make a separate “Olympics” calendar which can be overlaid with your main calendar.
Here’s the imported event in an Outlook calendar. I’m in London, so Outlook shows the event adjusted to that time zone rather than Paris time. That means you’ll know when turn on your TV or device wherever you are.
