We mourn the passing of Woody Leonhard, Office Watch co-founder, on 8 March 2025 at age 73.
Back in 1996, Woody Leonhard and Peter Deegan teamed up to create “Woody’s Office Watch” (the precursor of Office Watch) as a way to spread accurate and detailed news about Microsoft Office.
Woody created a unique tone for his books and newsletters. A friendly and easy writing style that was very much like him in person. Not accepting Microsoft’s promises and hype, Woody reported on what software really did or did not do. That was unusual then and still is today.
His influence can be felt in many tech writers at both Office Watch and his Ask Woody site.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Woody’s family and will honor his legacy.
