Exchange Server for free

If you like the idea of having all your Outlook data accessible in a variety of ways (as we described in the last section) then you might want to try this free service.

If you like the idea of having all your Outlook data accessible in a variety of ways (as we described in the last section) then you might want to try this free service.

Mail2Web.com has an option which offers a free Exchange Server account which you can connect to your personal information via web, PDA, etc. It’s called Mail2Web LIVE and it amounts to a free Exchange Server account.

Naturally there are limits to this free service. The email address has to be from a special domain and there’s a 1GB total storage limit (and a whopping 100MB limit on email attachments), but otherwise it brings to individuals the power available to many corporate staff. Connection to Outlook is not supported unless you upgrade to their paid version.

We’ve not tested Mail2Web LIVE ourselves but if you’re interested give it a try. We’d be interested to hear from anyone who has used Mail2Web Live.
