Will Office Watch readers be switching to Office 2007?
Thanks to everyone who took a few moments to answer our Office 2007 survey.
In summary, it seems that most Office Watch readers don’t intend to switch to Office 2007 or haven’t been convinced that it’s worth the change. A total of 52% voted against Office 2007 in some way. The ‘yeah’ vote was only 25% with the rest undecided or at the mercy of corporate decision making.
But then almost 75% of those people have not tried Office 2007 in any of its beta forms.
Of course we don’t pretend this is a fully accurate survey by any standards – it’s an indication of what you, the Office Watch readers, are thinking and doing.
It’s no surprise that there’s increasing resistance to upgrading Office even from loyal users. The price of the upgrade is steep considering the incremental advantages of yet another version of Office and the availability of alternatives for many modest users.
Still, that’s been the accepted wisdom for the last few versions of Office and the market dominance of Microsoft continues.
