How to turn on IMAP on Google’s Gmail service.
In order to make your email host connect with IMAP it may need to be configured in the host settings. This isn’t always necessary, in fact usually IMAP is turned on at the email host already.
However Gmail requires you to turn on IMAP (or POP) when you need it.
Login to your Gmail account. After logging, the Inbox page opens. On this page click the “Settings” option at the top right corner.
The Settings page opens up. Here click the option “Forwarding and POP/IMAP”.
Here under the title “IMAP Access” select the option “Enable IMAP”. Click “Save Changes” button.
