OneDrive storage boost ... if you ask for it.

Microsoft has slightly backtracked on their OneDrive storage cutback decision from last month.

Free accounts were dropped to a lowly 5GB while paid Office 365 accounts were reduced to 1Terabyte from ‘unlimited’ (with no drop in the annual fee).

Now free accounts can keep their 15GB limit plus any ‘camera roll bonus’ space after the change is implemented.

Go to https://preview.onedrive.com/bonus/  and click on the link ‘Keep your free storage’.

Then you have to give permission by clicking Yes.

Note the condition that OneDrive will be able to remove the bonus storage at any time in the future.  “Microsoft giveth and Microsoft can, when it wants, taketh away.“.

Click Yes and look for this screen.

None of this applies to Office 365 customers who get a much larger OneDrive storage limit.  Microsoft has NOT changed their new limit of 1TB (down from unlimited).
