Office Lens, the nifty way to photograph documents then convert to a document or PDF is ending it’s run as a Windows app.
Office Lens for Windows is mostly for Windows Mobile smartphones though it can also be used on any Windows 10 machines.
Microsoft has gone beyond just stopping updates or supporting the app. They are also disabling the crucial ability to save Lens pictures or documents to OneDrive, Word, PowerPoint or PDF..
Microsoft kindly says:
“You can continue to use other features of the app as installed on your device”
Which isn’t very generous because the cloud services and saving to OneDrive, Office apps or PDF are the main benefits of Office Lens.
31 December 2020
Office Lens won’t be able to save pictures to OneDrive, Office apps or PDF after 31 December 2020.
1 January 2021
