OneDrive sync ending soon for older MacOS

OneDrive on Mac computers won’t be supported on older macOS from mid-September 2021. The latest macOS and last two releases will continue work and be supported.

Microsoft’s general policy for supporting Office on Mac computers is to support the most recent version of macOS and the two versions before that.  So, from time to time, Microsoft drops support for older versions of the Mac operating system.

From 10 September 2021 there will be no more updates for the OneDrive app on macOS:

  • Sierra 10.12, released Sept. 2016
  • High Sierra 10.13, Sept. 2017

The OneDrive app will continue to be supported on:

  • Mojave 10.14, released Sept. 2018
  • Catalina 10.15, Oct. 2019
  • Big Sur 11, Nov. 2020
  • Monterey 12, due later in 2021

The same support policy applies to the current Office for Mac releases, 365, 2019 and the upcoming Office 2021/LTSC for Mac.
