GPT-2 can be squeezed into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet, providing a functional demonstration of the Transformer architecture used in large language models (LLMs). GPT-2 is an older version of the AI system – Microsoft Copilot and ChatGPT use GPT-4.
Ishan Anand made the 1.25GB Excel file as a low-code introduction to LLMs (Large Language Models), suitable for tech executives, marketers, and those new to AI.
This Excel version of GPT-2 can process up to 10 tokens of input and offers insight into the model’s next-token prediction capabilities.
Ishan advises against using this file on Mac or cloud spreadsheet apps due to performance issues, and recommends the latest version of Windows Excel 365 for optimal experience.
