Microsoft has released Outlook connections for the Apple Watch.
With an iPhone and connected Apple Watch you’ll be able to access some Outlook email, calendar details from the tiny Watch screen.

According to Microsoft the Watch app can:
- Give you a quick glance at the Outlook Inbox or upcoming calendar events by swiping up from the Watch face.
- Catch up with unread emails. Reply directly from your watch with the set of pre-written replies,
- There’s also emojis and voice dictation.
- Get notified of important emails and take action immediately with custom notifications. Archive and Scheduling are available.
The notable omission is any mention of Contacts. Yet again, the Outlook app (for Apple or Android) has a strange ‘blind-spot’ for the contacts/people list.
The Apple Watch features arrive automatically with the Outlook for iOS app v1.3.5 or later.
Other Apple Watch goodies from Redmond
There’s an update to Wunderlist, a popular app recently bought by Microsoft.
The app now has voice control for making new To Do items.
Wunderlist is good and nice to see development is continuing after the buy out. It remains to be seen how this app will fit into Microsoft’s longer term plans and the broader Office 365/Exchange Server system. Typically, there’s no talk about customer data privacy with yet another Microsoft hosted app.
