How one kind reader saved money with Office-Watch.com

A lovely email from Mary S in New Hampshire proves that the Office-Watch.com money saving tips for Office 365 Home or Personal really do work.

It’s exactly why we write those articles, so our customers can buy Office 365 for less than what Microsoft wants.

“Just followed your “Office Watch” advice for my first renewal of Office 365 Personal Edition-Single User. Found it $20 cheaper from Amazon and had no problem loading in the key and extending my subscription by 13 additional months.

Put a task in Outlook to check pricing next year, about a month before the expiry, to review and shop around as needed.

I’m donating $10, half my savings, to Office Watch.

Thanks for the great advice, loads of tips, and helping your readers navigate the confusing and complex relationship we must maintain with Microsoft.

Mary certainly found a good deal on Amazon USA.  Office 365 Personal isn’t heavily discounted from it’s official $69.99 price.  $49.99 is as good as you’re likely to get.  Office 365 Home is often available for at least $20 off.

Adding a reminder for 4-6 weeks before Office 365 expiry is a good move.  It gives you time to find a discounted price for Office 365 then extend your plan before Microsoft tries to charge full price for renewal.

Extra Office 365 savings tip

At that time, a month or 6 weeks before expiry, turn OFF auto-renewal for Office 365.  Do that and then when you later extend your Office 365 plan, you might be offered another ’13 months for the price of 12′ deal.
