Word and Office have several left “pointing hand” symbols available in some fonts. Here’s the Unicode options explained and shown.
We’ve also looked at the options for All the RIGHT pointing hand symbols in Word and Office
There are various pointing hand options in Unicode:
- Index – a pointing index finger with palm facing.
- Backhand Index – pointing index finger with back of hand showing.
- Sideways Index – a side view of a pointing hand.
Plus variations for each of these symbols.
- White – could be called ‘Outline’,
- Black – could be called ‘Filled in’.
It’s easier to see the difference between ‘white’ and ‘black’ if the color is changed and especially with a different background.
For ‘White’ symbols the outline changes color, the rest is transparent and shows the background color. ‘Black’ symbols are filled in with any color you choose.
Left pointing hands are good for signs or a creative bullet list pointer.
