If you put a file up on Dropbox, how does anyone know it’s there?

Obviously you can tell them, by email, phone or even face-to-face! Or they can check the shared folder for anything new.

Happily there are better options. Dropbox has an ‘Events’ page where you can see each addition, deletion or change to your Dropbox storage including shared folders.

On the top right, there’s an RSS button that will give you an RSS link to the events log.

Copy that RSS link into your RSS reader – most likely Outlook. Then you can see new files arriving right away.

In the Dropbox program there is a short list of recent events and a tooltip will pop-up when a file is added, changed or deleted.
