The Windows 11/10 Emoji Panel has the Eta – lower case η. Use Win + . (period/fullstop) to open the panel.

Choose the Symbols tab (the third of the top row icons), then the Language Symbols section which is marked by the capital Ω … handy that.  To find the Eta – lower case η, look within the first row.

MacOS and Office for Mac inserting characters

On a Mac, to enter the Eta – lower case η symbol:

  • Command + Control + Spacebar shortcut to open the Character Viewer.  
  • Search for “ Eta  “ and the Viewer should find the symbol you need.
