A list of all the new file extensions used in Office 2007
Like most people we talk about the ‘.docx’ format as a shorthand way of referring to the new Office 2007 document formats.
There are really many new document extensions.
An innovation are document extensions that indicate if the contents can include macro / VBA code or not. The non-macro formats end in ‘X’ while the macro-enabled ones end in ‘M’.
As well as documents there are also extensions for templates, with or without macros.
