Seven free Halloween fonts for Word, PowerPoint and Office

There are plenty of creepy Halloween themed fonts available for free to work on Windows or Mac with Word, PowerPoint or other Office apps. Here’s seven that caught our eye plus one that you probably already have.

All of these work in both Windows and Mac, mostly TrueType fonts.  They are licensed for personal use, check the details for corporate licensing.

Algerian

There’s only one Windows/Office font that’s remotely Halloween-ish – Algerian – supplied with Microsoft Office.

Aside from that, we have to look further afield for spooky, scary fonts.

A Charming Font

Based on the TV show ‘Charmed’, this font has several styles including italic, expanded and regular across 255 characters. From Fontspace.com

Jack O

No need to carve out a pumpkin with this headings font.  Upper and lower case letters only. Good in large sizes like titles on PowerPoint slides. From dafont.com

Halloween Spider

Capitals with spiderweb extras, also ? . and ! . From daFont.com

October Crow

Capitals only font based on a movie – DaFont.com

Groovy Ghosties

Three styles available, outline, Front or Back “made of incorporeal beings from beyond the grave”. Has a wider range of symbols than most including apostrophes, colon, semi-colon, brackets and even accented letters. See the character table at DaFont.com

Freaky Halloween symbols

A small range of Halloween symbols in demo, personal use version of this font available from DaFont.com .
